The people at SALT DESIGN STUDIO are an energetic, eclectic and talented group, who spend their time outside the office hiking in the Wissahickon and Poconos, throwing clay, tending to their gardens, and shopping at their local farmer's markets. We are practitioners, teachers, builders and listeners. We are big picture thinkers with well-trained eyes for detail. We believe in a holistic and community-based approach to design, one that considers the landscape, and those who inhabit it, as a dynamic part of an historical, cultural and environmental matrix. Contextualization and collaboration are fundamental to our practice. We learn and design from the unique ecology and history of each site we encounter, and we learn from each other and those with which we partner.
