We’re seeking a LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT to join our team!

Position Summary: As a Landscape Architect in our firm, you will be responsible for working on multiple projects simultaneously, guiding design from concept development through to construction documentation, and conducting construction administration. You should be comfortable working independently on design solutions and drawing production, as well as working together with others in the studio. You will lead Landscape Designers on project work, delegate tasks as needed, ensure projects progress according to schedule, and coordinate directly with consultants and clients. Other responsibilities will include working with SALT’s Principal and Studio Director to develop proposals and assist with business development.  Qualifications:

  • Licensed Landscape Architect.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working full time in a professional LA office setting.

  • BLA or MLA from an accredited program.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines.

  • Fluency in AutoCAD drafting and documenting designs from concept through Construction Documentation.

  • Proficiency in Rhino, SketchUp, or similar 3D modeling software.

  • Proficiency in Lumion or other rendering software.

  • Ability to produce visually compelling digital and hand-drawn graphics.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Comfort with public speaking and presenting design ideas to clients and stakeholder groups.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with community engagement.

  • Knowledge of native plants of southeastern Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities:

DESIGN & PRODUCTION

  • Travel to project sites, document existing conditions, and conduct site inventory and analysis.

  • Develop designs for various projects utilizing hand sketches, AutoCAD, and Rhino or other 3D modeling software.

  • Produce technical drawings and details and pick up red lines.

  • Produce illustrative graphics and renderings, such as diagrams, plans, sections, and perspectives.

  • Research precedents related to design projects.

  • Participate in project design charrettes – in house and/or with consultant/client teams.

  • Attend and participate in regular project meetings.

  • Attend and participate in public/community meetings.

  • Assist in organizing and filing project documentation with Project Manager.

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION

  • Travel to product sites and document construction progress; prepare Field Reports.

  • Review and respond to Contractor Submittals and RFIs.

  • Tag trees at nurseries.

MARKETING

  • Assist with preparation of proposals for prospective projects.

  • Develop studio marketing material in coordination with Principal and Studio Director.
