Finalist: Coxe Park Design Competition

SALT DESIGN STUDIO was invited by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Friends of Coxe Park to submit a design proposal for the renovation of Coxe Park. SALT’s redesign of Coxe Park draws inspiration from Benjamin Franklin’s “Junto,” which assembled a diverse group of people to share ideas, create networks, and promote social action. Community Junto creates a gathering place that encourages neighbors to bond through collective interaction, play and social exchange. Referencing Franklin’s legacy of innovation connects the park to the parkway through imaginative reuse of materials, artistry and light, reinventing Coxe Park for the next generation.
