Finalist: Coxe Park Design Competition

SALT DESIGN STUDIO was invited to submit a design proposal for the Coxe Park Competition, sponsored by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Coxe Park.

The redesign of Coxe Park draws inspiration from Benjamin Franklin’s “Junto,” which assembled a diverse group of people to share ideas, create networks, and promote social action. Community Junto creates a gathering place that encourages neighbors to bond through collective interaction, play and social exchange. Referencing Franklin’s legacy of innovation connects the park to the parkway through imaginative reuse of materials, artistry, and light, ultimately reinventing Coxe Park for the next generation.
